BOB.. THANKS FOR THE INFO.. ILL TRY TO GET IT ASAP.
This is what they are referring to, use lower case or small letters and it won't be so offensive.
The Valve is a great thing to have as it makes oil changes almost enjoyable.

bob.. its an old habbit with the caps thing. but ill try to remember lol.. thanks
I didn't complain about the caps, because it doesn't bother me, but it does a lot of folks and is considered yelling..Glad you're aboard!! Typing is slow now because my right arm is in a sling due to shoulder surgery last week, hence the short answers. After you see the valve, you will probably agree it is pretty foolproof and quite strong. You can add a clamp, wire tie ect. to secure it even more. I haven't yet, but may eventually. Hope this helps...Bob <><
If I were you, I'd print out some of the "tech" tips, some may just come in handy. Have enough tools to handle any complications you may run into. Also a can of brake cleaner. Some hose clamps. Mechanics gloves, and surgical gloves. Hand cleaner,...well, I think you have the idea.
not to dissagree with huntercgr but that defeats the whole purpose of buying a diesel! the long term reliability!!! i just took mine on its first trip also with 5000 miles on her. and what did i do? check tire pressure, filled the tank and i was gone! this is my seccond diesel and never once have i put more planning into a road trip other than "make sure the trip doesnt fall on an oil change interval". diesels come alive on long trips. i averaged almost 19mpg at 75 with the a/c on!! so jorylee, my advice. set the cruise control, kick back and enjoy!
keep it ford

im getting ready to do an oil change this payday. I hope ..... i dont think ill put on more the 2500 to 3000 miles total on this trip. right now my gas milage is in the gutter. im only getting about 12 mpg.. i guess "little boy blue" (gallery) still needs some time to break in. hopefully ill be able to get at least 15+ mpg on the open road. with the cost of diesel these days.. its going to be a pretty penny to get down there and back. anyway. i always take enough tools to do most of the basics with and it never hurts to be "prepaired"... but i expect that this will be a trouble free trip. this is the 3rd ford i've owned (91' f250 xlt cc/lb high boy 351m, then a 96' f150 300 strait-6 2wd) so compaird to both of them. this truck REALLY kicks ***. Im a virgin to the world of Diesel's so im trying to learn what i can along the way. thanks for all the tips. jorylee
