c7 e6ta ab ???
*BTW the tag was covered in rust and thats what i made out of the bit i could read.
Does it have a feedback solenoid on the side? Electical wires attached?
If it's non Feedback it's a Carter YF 1 Barrel.
There should be a metal Carberator tag simular to the distributor tag, and axle tags. located on the front. Probably with a number E6TE and a suffex on the end.
Example, the part number on the tag of my Carter YFA 1 Barrel Carb is, E1TE GC. It also has the marks... A-OK 30. It was A-ok'd by inspector number 30 etc...
If you don't have the original carb, or the tag is missing, you can have a "Friendly parts man at ford that isn't busy" run your Calibration code, found on the emission sticker.
or he can cross reference your computer part number, egr valve, and distributor part numbers to get a compatible carb number for you.
Not all Ford parts men are friendly though. I went to a Ford dealer out of town. the guy running the parts counter, instead of looking up parts for me and taking his time to help, he would just say
they are obsolete to get rid of me etc...
I then went to my local Ford dealer that I've been friends with, and taught some of their secrets from
for 20 years and it took them 30 minutes, but they found the part I needed. It wasn't obsolete after all! Infact the part was used from 1975 to 1996! They just had to do a lot of part number cross checking, which the other man wasn't willing to do.So just a heads up there.
If you get a guy that wont even look the parts up for you, find one that will.
Hope this rambling helps.

I should have also stated with those id numbers, I was really busy at the time and did a quick check on carb, there are about 21 parts list for a 86 F150 4.9, so yes a Cal code or a tag off carb will get me to a parts list, but the way some of the catalog reads it still might not tell me exactly which carb it is but it will list the parts for the carb. so jimandjimmer is it a carb you need or a kit or a part of carb, or is it you just want to know what carb you have?
