Dash removal in 59......help

Anybody know what is required to remove the dash from the cab of the 59? I've found a perfect unmolested donor with the factory radio opening in a junk yard (even has the radio but tuning **** doesn't work) for $100. Does it unbolt or is it a rivited cut and remove project????? My current dash has a major hole in the front for a indash radio and is a major weld and grind project. If you guys gimme' the right answer this could save me lots of time and cussing!

It looks like it is a cut and grind job to me - lots of spot welds. I would rather swap cabs then do any of the two other options you mentioned.

I am no expert, but I do have a couple of cabs stripped out in my yard. I don't see anyway to remove the dash except by cutting it free.

Depending on what is easier for you to do it might be better just to repair the radio section of the dash. This would save having to drill out all the spot welds and spot welding in the other dash.

It might be easier to cut a repair panel out of the new dash and weld it into the old.

As to the radio there is likely a pully and belt arangment that moves the dial on the face when the tuner is moved. Often the "belt" breaks or slips off, even tho the radio still plays.

You can also have radios repaired, or modern electronics stuffed into the old housing.
