1965 Restoration - Dash Help Needed

OK,
so the PO of this truck cut the dash to install a "modern" radio. I want to restore the truck to include the original AM radio. What I need is someone who would be willing to provide me a template of the dash showing the radio holes locations, hold diameters, etc. so I can build the dash patch.

Any help would be appreciated!!!

AM radio: 3 holes in the face of the dash punched out if factory installed, drilled out if dealer installed.

Replace the dash, buy a radio. The template for holes is with the radio.

I just bought a 65 swb 2wd. Is it supposed to have large round speedo with the temp & fuel gauge in it? Or should it have the elongated speedo?

"Sweep" speedometer: 1965/66 F100/250 2WD Custom Cab & Ranger only.

Sorry to sound like a retard but it just says f100 on the title & side of the truck. So its that means its just a standard f100 then & the round speedo is correct?

If it has trim that goes all the way from the hood to the end of the bed it is a Custom Cab unless the trim was removed and all the holes filled.

It will also say Custom Cab on the outside of the door just in front of the door handle.

Custom Cabs have the sweep speedo.

Heres mine, Im missing the trim on the hood, but you can see the holes.

I don't think that is correct. I believe the anodized aluminum side mouldings were strictly an option (and only on styleside box trucks). These mouldings could have been ordered WITH the Ranger, Camper Special or Custom Cab packages; however, it was not PART of a package.

A 2WD '65 F100 could have been ordered with the Custom Cab (CC) package; the CC package could have included the:
-- sweep speedometer
-- padded dash
-- aluminum grill
-- aluminum trim ring around windshield & taillights
-- script chrome emblem “CustomCab” on door
-- aluminum trim around inside (plastic) door panels and across dash mid-line bottom of padding
-- different style steering wheel equipped with car-style chrome horn ring
-- and painted dog-dish hub caps (for ’66 they were stainless steel)

Keep in mind, any of the above items could have be deleted, if requested when the truck was ordered new.

Hi Bill,
1) The illustration you provided indicates part #18985 to be a speaker grille, correct?
2) If so, was the grille fastened to the dash with the screws # 52360-S(U-294) or did those screws fasten only the speaker to the underside of the dash?

3) If no radio was ordered, was a 'delete plate' installed instead of the speaker grille?
4) If so, would the delete plate have had a different part # than the grille?
