where is the sensor on an 00 f-250 ex cab 4 door(suicide back doors)? mine is almost junk so i have to slam the door hard to get it to stop dinging. and while i'm asking, my truck ALWAYS dings like i left the key in the ignition when you open the door, even if the key isnt in and the lights are off. do all 00s do this? i want to smash the thing with a sledge.
The switch is located inside the door latch mechanism, in the door, from what I understand. A LOT of folks have had good luck by just spraying a whole bunch of WD-40 in there and working it in by opening/closing the doors multiple times.
You can stop the dinging altogether by disabling the piece in the ignition switch, or by cutting the black/pink tracer wire running up to it.

AWESOME. i was hoping there was an easy fix for the dinging. i'll spray the crap out of the latch with WD40 in the morning and pray that it works. i deff don't want to pull that thing apart to get at it.
