The EPA wanted this to be a untamperable emissions control device.
I'd like a self-regenerative debit card, a half dozen free virgin hookers and truck that I can't break...but that doesn't mean that any of those things ever have or will exist

I agree and you should note the operative word in my post, the epa WANTED an untamperable device. But we all know if it was build by mans hands and brains another smarter man is gonna figure out how to mess with it.
Well here we go. I can see this Particulate Filter "thing" is a mess for most of us. I can tell you when you burn the wrong fuel or "abuse" the system in a Freightliner the cost for the filter is about $3700.00 for just the filter. That being said I will leave mine alone until someone finds a bullit proof way around it. Ive heard the truck runs fine without it, since it has a pressure switch at each end and the fuel line was ran back to the tank (warranty over). I am just looking for the mileage, which may be a hunt that takes me to places and money spent that exceeds the excitement of winning 15 and 20 mph. Now has anyone heard or have a truck with 5" turbo back or particulate filter back muffler bypass. i need some real feedback. And which is the best chip with real figures, not what the computor says. who has the best prices. Thanks guys and of course gals
The outputs of any sensor can be spoofed, but the costs may go up. It may be worth checking out versions of the engines sold for export to countries with different or no emissions regs.
2007 is the end of diesel performance as we know it. Particulate Filters and such are tied in to the ECM through all sorts of sensors. For example, the new 6.7 liter Cummins will have over 10,000 ECM parameters. On the Cummins the muffler is removable, but turboback exhaust is a thing of the past. You will not be able to "fool" the ECM with chips, tuners, and other devices of the sort because in short, you will fry the emissions system. If you do remove this equipment, the CEL will be illuminated and there will be no way to shut it off. If they do come up with a tuner, there will be no doubt it will cost big $$$. They would have to have a harness going to every single sensor on the truck. Extra fuel will be injected on the exhaust stroke to keep the Particulate Filter "fired up".
In short, after ULSD motors come out, you will be able to make them loud, but not more powerful
Its funny reading this old post now. Even DPF on they are getting pretty high horsepower and torque.

Matt already called it before it came out.
Man that would really suck if they did do something that was 100% BLOCKED! but seriouly your only up against a ford engineer. He's probably only 12year old with vision problems
<hr style="color:#D1D1E1; background-color:#D1D1E1" size="1"> Told I need a new particulate filter at the tune of 2300.00. The Ford warranty does not cover diesel components ????? I bought this truck used 53,000 miles and came with a 6 year 100,000 mile warranty. This is the 2nd time when I took the truck in for scheduled maintenance they find other problems that cost me.
My problem is what's next?? Since I bought the truck 16 months ago the cost for other than scheduled maintenance is over 3000.00. That is not why I bought a Super Duty. The bad thing is I lost my good paying job and now work for Lowe's. I make enough to pay for the truck and scheduled maintenance, but this big chunk of change will have to come from retirement savings.
This post was originally under Super Duty's a member suggested I post it here. Any thoughts? Thanks Darrell
you could buy a tuner and remove the dpf if you dont need to pass emissions testing
other than that maybe time to downgrade to a f150 if times are tough. diesel repairs are always expensive.
That's a tough choice I've been driving 3/4-1 tons all my adult life. My farm truck is a old Duramax and my tractors a diesel also. Good advice and I appreciate it. I should be back in the saddle soon.
I hope someone can lead me in the right direction, I have a 2008 6.4L F350 Powerstroke, I have a gut feeling that the issues im having with my truck have to do with the Emissions, DPF filter but i don't Know that for fact. It jumps code and reads "Reduced Engine Power". Turbo's won't kick in and has no power, and fuel mileage has gone in the gutter. I'm told that the Tuner and Delete Kit are outlawed now and that my truck could be taken from me if I get caught with it done to my truck. Please Advise I'm at a loss with what to do.
