Speed Week
I have decided to attend Speed Week at the Bonneville Salt Flats this year. It just seems like something every gearhead should do once in his lifetime. The event starts on August 12. I will be there from Friday the 11th, spend the weekend, and maybe stay the rest of the week.
I will be camped at the "Bend in the Road" with my baby (12 foot) camp trailer and driving my red jeep wagon.
The salt flats are located at the state line between Utah and Nevada, east of Reno along I 80. Wendover is the nearest town. Anyone who wants to join me can just throw a sleeping bag in the back of their truck and bring a cooler full of sandwiches and beer.
They allow spectators to mingle with the pit crews, and full run of the pits. Just be prepared for desert sun with no shade within 30 miles.

Hey Clint, you musta watched that worlds fastest indian movie and got inspired eh? Sounds like a good trip. I'll be backpacking with my son in the NICE AND COOL high country right about then or I would consider a trailer trip out there to join up. Have fun and post pics of the event okay?
