it will start 18 Aug - likely I will get there on the 15th. Camping is allowed - (Dry, with no power) next to the salt flats. There are other campgrounds around Wendover, several motels, and three casinos.

The public is allowed in the pits - two years ago I helped a guy from Oregon that had mounted a GM V12 boat motor into his F150.

My guess is that this year I will take the Interstate 80 from Sacramento - Wendover is about 400 miles east of Reno, if someone wants to convoy. I will likely stay all week and return through Las Vegas.
