Question about cats on Powerstrokes. My 02 F250 6 speed has a cat. It was bought in Utah. My friends 02 F250 automatic has no cat and it is a California truck.Whats up with that? Here in Reno Nevada i have to have a smog check on a dino. So how does the smog check person know which truck is supposed to have one? If i take mine out will they know it had one? Joe

Just gout the cat. They don't look inside, they just have to see if its there. And yes 6spd your year had cat's, at least here in calif. I have a body there in Nev., who put magnaflow on his and just flanged the cat in for easy removal.
