using E85 in a 92 F-150

Since E85 is 100 octane could i put a couple gallons in each tank since regular 87 is now the cheapest.

If you mix it so that the total is no more than 10% ethanol.

Basically, you could mix 1 gallon of E85 into 7.5 gallons of regular gas.

Octane really has nothing to do with it, unless your engine combination requires more octane to avoid knocking. It has more to do with the capacity of the fuel system, and the parameters programmed into the computer.
