Ya got me Russ, "pay on a dead horse", damn bier came out the snot locker on that one. I sold a 38K original mile 71 429 with C-6 attached for $450 six years ago, oops there goes a good 385 small chamber core. A FE die (wallet) hard.
I'm going gay, I helped a friend on his 67 El Camino, it now has a 557 HP 603 TQ 502. What an animal. I can taste that 482 I want to build but it's the green stuff i'm short on.
I dont want to make payments on something I might blow up!!
Paid for or not; I'd have rocks in my belly, tears in my eyes.
I guess payments would be insult to injury, I just don't like to carry debt. Carl, just don't tell me about blowin that gey shivey...and I won't ask...LOL I bet it's a screamer all the same.
The thing that's driving me nuts is I can not find any seat to seat specs on that hydraulic roller cam number 12366543 in this 502 HP 502 567 tq motor with 9.6cr. It has 224/234 @.050", .527/.544 lift, 2 BTDC-42 ABDC, 47 BBDC-7 ATDC. If I knew the seat numbers I can run it thru the Dyno Sim program, must be a GM secret.
I be thinking how this would work on a 482 FE.
So far at 9.6 cr on a reworked CJ cam I have 451 hp and 602 Tq on a 482.
Carl Believe it or not? your get better results using the cam at .050" with the cam being in action than you do seat to seat.. the .050" has become a standard for the cam industry..Because some cams say to use .004" some say .020" for there specs..
But they all have or should specs at .050"...
Well I called Brain over at AD Performance about the new Scat 4.500" Forged Arm they just came out with..... $851 2 slugs of Mallory for balancing..out the door for under $1100 and will hold 1200hp... Cooool....
Geeze Russ that's a nice price for a forged arm. We need FE prices to level out a bit like that...LOL. Bummer on the blower intake maybe something custom??? Either way smart move not borrowing from the bank. Take your time and buy when you can. I still can't get over the numbers that sucka is gonna make HS!!!!! LOL.
Carl that 502 sounds like a BEAST!!!! LOL watch out you don't get bit by that ol shevy bug!!! LOL. Good luck on the 482. it will all come together. I sold most of my parts to make way for the new stuff I'm planning. I need some greenbacks too! Maybe Russ, Carl and I can be the new FTE poster children. We accept cash and all major credit cards and natch all donations are tax deductable. Just a thought guys???
No G, If I stay with the A style heads which I will for street use....just about everyone makes a blower manifold for it...Including Hampton, and Dove, so that wont be any problem...
I just wish I had some parts left to donate to the Help G get the 427 S/O running!!
Oh yeah I was going to tell you..the other night when I went to get the Daughter from the ER......I didnt see the Gal at Jims shop? unless he had it in the building?
Or maybe he took it home to pull the tank and fuel system..and put the new on? I'll see him next week anyway and ask him if he sold it or what?
Well i didnt get to go to the cruise in tonight..The wife wanted to go to the marina and do some dancing....and eat!! So thats where this Old boy ended up.. But I'am going up the hill tomarrow....because I'am rea; curiuos myself!!
Russ, I was wanting the seat/seat numbers to compare cams and the acceleration numbers. I have a fixed number of no higher than 3.2 for a daily driver. Yup that 502 ran strong but then again I quit with chebbies back in the early 70's, too many broken motors and tows. I will not become a rainbow color person again so no worries only blue.
That 4.5" arm forged I read correct or another cast Scat crank?
Is this for a FE and will it clear the pan rails or i've got a 385 mixed into this?
.....=o&o>.....

OK Carl I see!! what your doing now... and yeah the new Arm Scat come out with is forged for the 385 series...
And Glenn I talked to Jim today about the Galaxie....and its at his house..they trailered it over there..so his brother could work on the fuel system...because his brother didnt want to have to drive to the shop everyday to work on it..as the shops about 30 milesfrom where they live...
So as of now it all seems to be good... But if that happens to go down the road ?? I have a line on a 70 Torino GT for $3500..... lol.....
Russ; I have a friend that had a 70 GT until he was looking at some steamy T&A then rear ended a city street sweeper at 35 mph. Motor ended up in a Maverick later.
It seems that 400 inches is dead, 500 is handy, do I smell a 600 plus inch 385 series in your future? FE trader.
