Cps or some other sensor?

Recently I changed the cps and now I am having another problem. Today the X didn't idle right while driving and I couldn't get any power to move. I pulled the codes and this is what I found: P0236 Turbo Boost Sensor A, P1210 Inj.Control, and P0340 Cps. After I cleared the codes it started and ran fine. I turned it off again to check to see if any other codes and there was none. Where is the Turbo Boost sensor A located and also is the ICP and IPR sensor the same thing? I will change the ICP sensor when I get home from work tonight. Any other ideas as to what might be wrong? Thanks in advanced for the replies. X has 75k and no other mods except in sig.

bumped...let's see if we can get you an answer!

I'll start by giving you mine:

I had a similar problem with my X except it was the ICP sensor that was filling with oil. I changed the sensor, used brake cleaner to clean the plug and all was well. The ICP and IPR sensors aren't the same thing, but they do work together. So if you change one, it's always a good idea to change the other. The IPR is located behind the HPOP and is a little harder to reach than the ICP. I had my IPR professionally installed at DI Performance in Houston, but it can be done at home if you have the right tools.

Here's a link for the IPR Removal: http://cw-diesel.com/LuxSite/IPRInfo.htm

If you haven't already done so, here are a few steps/suggestions for getting to the ICP sensor.

1. You'll need to take off the driver side intercooler hose. (it's an 11 or 12mm socket not sure which one)

2. Once you get the clamp off, you may have a hard time popping the hose off. You can use a flat head screwdriver to work your way around the boot. Just be carefull not to puncture a hole in it. The hose should easily come off. From there you should be able to reach the ICP sensor without too much of a fight. Have the other sensor ready as oil may come pouring out once you get the old sensor off.

3. Tighten the new sensor, plug it in, and get the intercooler hose back on. While you're at it tighten all your intercooler hoses so they don't leak or pop off. (I did and my 7.3 never ran better! )

As for the Turbo Boost Sensor A Issue, I'm guessing it's the MAP sensor, although I could be wrong. I'll move this to the 7.3 forum to get you some better answers. If you have any futher questions issues or anything else, don't be afraid to post or PM me. Take care.

Torador_Diesel,
I appreciate your reply, I will try that and see what happens. I will be changing my hoses shortly and will change the IPR. I had read somewhere that the IPR can be taken apart and serviced, is that a good idea? Thanks

so you cleared the codes then it ran fine? thats strange. but anyway yes the boost sensor code you got is the MAP sonsor located on top of the heater box on the paaneger side. it has a 3/8 rubber hose that goes down to the intake. these have been known to leak or come loose or in my case forgotten to be put back on after doing glowplugs and it runs like crap! tordeader gave you good advice on the ICP. the ipr isn't what he was talking about though. its harder to get to but yes its is rebuildable as far as replacing the o-rings. generally thats a hot no start issue or a long crank issue.

Thanks, Tjbeggs

I will also check the MAP sensor again also the hoses that go to it. It is running fine for now, I will try to service the IPR later this week. Thanks again.
