body lift for deisel?

body lift for deisel?
Why is it hard to find a body lift for a deisel truck im looken for a 2 inch but no wone sells it for a 89 f250 deisel. any body know why im kinda new at the deisel thing so any info would be greatly apresiated. thanks.

You can't body lift a diesel due to the radiator. On a body lift the body...including the radiator support lifts but not the engine. On a diesel you need every bit of airflow from the fan to the radiator, and you DON'T want to cut your shroud. At least thats the way it was explained to me.

I never thought about that. I guess you could buy the kit for the same truck with a gas motor and do what frederic said. I think I've read all his posts since i joined the boards and have yet to see one that was wrong, but I guess thats why we are here. To learn from those more knowledgable than ourselves.

I and a friend did it on his 88 F350 dually crewcab. Worked fine. I don't recall which fan he used, but I think it was the caddy fan I normally recommend. A big one! Anyway, we did that about 150k ago, and his truck still runs fine and nice and cool.
