It seems to work fine most of the time driving around town at slow speeds. I was going to purchase an a/c sealer and repair kit and try that, I was hoping someone has experienced this problem before and could point me in the right direction.

In addition to what projectSHO89 said, check the wiring to the a/c clutch. I have seen quite a few of the connectors go bad. Of course I have seen quite a few clutches go bad as well. First thing is to find out if the compressor is staying on when it blows hot air.

As far as the high side pressure switch goes. You shouldn't be running near it. It is there as a failsafe so that the system does not over pressurize and explode. It is a very scary thing to see that happen b/c the switch failed or someone disabled it. If there are no blockages in the system, the high side pressure will usually rise because of insufficient air flow through the condesor. This can be due to faulty fans, lots of bugs, or mud.
