My V6 4.0L will only go 92ish...It’s marked at 120mph (I know most cars won’t go the marked speed) but my old ’92 honda accord was marked at 120mph and I took it 105mph a couple of times.
All the new cars come with them. You'll need an aftermarket chip of some sort. Check the sponsers on the left. Edge, SCT, Motorhaven, not sure if they make an applicable chip for your truck or not, but you can check.
If you just want the speed limiter removed you would probably have to have a custom burn. They're standard chip is gonna want higher octane gas.
I just bought a "new" (sat on the lot for 2 years) 4.0 V6 Ranger and 92 is the top speed @3000 rpm. Talk about suck! Almost got my A** run over on the Penn turnpike!
When i bought my truck the first thing i did was the computer. so the stock engine, after goosing it a little finnally hit 137. but it took way to long and when i finnally started shutting down almost ran out of room(closed airport). when the speed governer was on, the highest i could get was 96-97. but, for highway driving thats a little fast.
Jcorbin- i dont know whats wrong, but that doesn't sound right. maybe it was the two years
In O.D. on highway, 3000. If I stand on it from a stop it'll go to 5 or so before shifting. No matter what I've done 92 or 93 is the top speed I can get.
how many miles are on it, you siad you bout it new off of the lot because it sat around for 2 yrs after it was made, maybe it's just not broken in yet.
