2 converters, replaced with one
I have been trying ever since I bought it to pass the smog test. I've replaced all the missing equipment and been rebuiding carb, new o2 sensor, plugs, set timming, checking for vacume leaks ect. I came close on the last test but the "co" was still high.
I had 2 catylitic convereters with a air pipe in the middle of the 2. They were in bad shape I think they were original. The shop said they could replace the 2 with one for $228. They did a real nice job welding everything. I have a new converter where the smaller first one was, the air tube behind it and a new staight pipe to the muffler where the second converter was.
Should I go for the test with the new single converter or will I need to install a second converter? The good thing is I could install the second one myself. Thanks for any feedback on this.
