My 96 has been leaking from the rear differential. It looks like it is coming down from where the driveshaft enters. What kind of fix can I do here. I don't really know how to add fluid or anything to that. Yes, I am not all that mechanically, I will probably have to take it to a shop I am thinking, but if it's an easy fix, I might go after it. i am thinking the seal there is shot.
The magority of the time there is a little groove cut in the yoke, and a new seal will help for alittle while untill the groove cuts through the seal again. Sometimes just putting a new seal works great.
I'd suggest pulling the seal(all you have to do is take off the bolt that holds the yoke on after removing that end of the driveshaft and swapping seals)then put everything back together, and add some lucas w/ some regular 80W90 gear oil(if you have a limited slip you will need to add some friction modifier or a sythetic gear oil w/ modifier in it).
