catalitic converters

I need to replace my whole exhaust system, but I'm a little confused about the converters. Its a 1993, 3.0L it has 2 catalitic converters and is the pipe from the manifold to the second converter all one huge piece? Thanks for any help!!!

If it's anything like the 4 litre you'll have fun. Me thinks it's all one piece of of the factory. Nothing short of a cutting torch is gonna get you very far. The pipe between the two cats is routed under a cross member of some kind. You'll likely have to either remove the cross member or cut between the cats to get them out. I'm not sure it's feasible to expect to get them out in one piece.

I had both converters replaced on my 3.0 for $120.00 at my local muffer shop. The tech cut the old ones off and welded the new ones on in less than 45 minutes.
