4 speed shifter removal

I am mid clutch replacment, see my post " 87' clutch problem" and I am trying to drop the tranny.

I can't seem to figure out, even w/ the shop manual how to take the stick off the tranny soo I can drop it.

Any help would be great.

Thanks,

Not sure what four speed you have, but if it's an NP435, an old FTE member has an excellent write-up on pulling that tranny.

Thanks Andy,

That link is very informative. It looks like that truck is a but older but is certainly good info. I am sad that it sounds like I didn't need to pull my seat and carpet to get the accsess hatch off. But oh well I will now at least have a cleaner truck.
