So on the advice of others on this forum I bought a reinforcment bracket for my clutch master cylinder as there is a lot of deflection in the fire wall when I step on the clutch.
It was suggested that it was 5 dollar part and that it would be easy to install.
Well the 5 dollar part is for 88 and newer. The 87 version was 16 dollars. Well I bought it and just got it in today. The instructions are very confusing and dautning.
I am wondering if any one else out there has installed this part.
This should be a squarish plate with several holes in it - one big one in the center for the rod from the brake pedal (or clutch pedal) to go through, and mounting bolts that line up with the master cylinder (brake or clutch, depening) on the other side. It's a matter of removing the bolts, disconnecting the linkage, and slipping the plate between the "stuff" on the inside, and the firewall, then bolting through it all with the existing bolts.
