'87 Tranny
The first is that the upper passanger side bolt to the bell housing from the tranny has some sort of problem with the threads. It will thread in but it wont snug down, it just keeps turning. I am trying to decide if Hellicoil or a tap and a bigger bolt is the solution.
The other problem is that I am having is that I can not get my stick back in the tranny. It is a three speed w/ overdrive.
There must be a trick, to it and I haven't figured it out yet.
Any help would be great.

The shop manual seems to make it very easy, but when I installed it the way it seemed to want to go in, it wouldn't shift, or didn't feel like it was shifting like it once did.
Is there a chance something fell out or loose, in it's moving around?
Thanks,

Compare the depth to the bolts you now have.
You may be able to put a longer one in.
Look into the transmission.
There is what is referred to as gates.
There should be either a square or circular hole.
It is necessary the square or circle be aligned. That means it is in neutral.
