Kubota makes the best zero-degree side discharge mower if you have to cut big open areas. Walker makes the best zero-degree mower for smaller areas where you have to collect up the grass.
We have two Toro zero turns... Best mowers we've ever used. They're not the golf course sized mowers, just a 62" and 52" deck but man do they get the job done. The steering was... interesting to get use to when we first got them. Lots of fun though
They take some practice, and getting used to. the first time I ran one, I did fairly well, but could have done much better. they're quite fun if you can handle em.
The lawns on the base in Norfolk are done with a small herd of zero-turn mowers that seem to never stop moving from sunup to sun down - its funny to see them bookin' across the base like a flight of flying saucers migrating between the buildings.
The guys I feel sorry for are the weedeater patrol that comes in behind them. They do nothing all day but hike all over the place with trimmers and a truckload of gas cans...
I bought a Cub Cadet Z50 about 6 weeks ago. It works great and is good to trim with. The only problem is that my teenage grandsons won't give me a chance to use it.
Haha TN, give the controls a chance to break in a bit... Then to stop all you'll have to do is let go of everything and it will at least slow down... When they're new you have to consciously pull back on them pretty hard, eh? The learning curve is pretty quick. have fun! Stay safe.
Grey, weedeater patrol is zero fun. I hate weedwacking - I'm convinced it's the second easiest way to get poison ivy. First is rolling around naked in a patch of it. *scratches legs*
Haha, only scratchin cus of the weedwackin... No rollin in the stuff for me! Come to think of it, I was never allergic to the stuff until about 2 years ago... I could pick it up with my bare hands, pull it out of the ground if I wanted to, then one day after trimming, I started itchin, never been the same since. Same thing happened with bee stings last year -- Slight reaction to those nasty black and white bees after I upset their nest by drivin past it on my Toro... I gotta keep my distance now, I don't wanna see what the next reaction is like Stupid allergies.
