Do you want ot stay with stock size valves? or step up to CJ size 2.19/1.71.

either way discount power products is the sponser of this forum give them a call, or Lem evans most likely can get them (PM me if you want his number)
Or another choice is maddog performance, you can find him selling on ebay but they sell seperate from there too, just, they are also called fastengineparts, and I know they carry ferrera valves for the 460s which are good valves (same brand trickflow uses in thier heads )

steping up to CJ size 2.19/1.71. THat soundes intersting What is requierd? Do you have to install new seats? I am wondering if the benifits would be enough to justify the cost as I am bilding a motor for my motorhome not a high rpm aplication.
Thanks

As to whether the benifits would be there for you probably not for a low rpm torque type engine, but that is also why I asked. For others that might be interested what is involved is on the intake side you just need to cut a new seat (a good machine shop usually has seat cutters fro doing this, expecially if they do any installation of hardened seats) on the exhaust side I would put in hardened seats but then again I do that even on stock sizes. Then once the seats have been roughed in you need to do a bowl blending type port job on it, this is a good idea even if your staying with stock valves and some port work on the exhaust side is always a good idea on any of the 385 series heads, even the CJ and PI heads have poor exhaust flow.
But the sources I listed should be able to get you the stock sizes you were asking about.

I do plan on doing some work on the exaust side and do a little bowl blending.
I think thease heads alreadey have hardend seats. I am wondering how far you can cut thease seats before you need to replace them? You mentond going to 1.71 diameter valves this onley .050 bigger and 1.725 is onley .065 larger and 1.760 is 0.100 larger. This should mean you are onley taking 1/2 of that off each side.
I am gratful for your input
Bill

remember that factory is just inductive hardened so it's actually pretty thin, as in a valve job can take it out.

Well just an update. I have a set of ferrera valves 2.19 in 1.76 ex on the way.
I am installing hardend seats as recomended.
I wen't over and looked at the heads after they came out of the tank. I coulden't believe how much flash and junk from the raw casting is still on the heads. I Coulden't believe Ford left flash sticking up on the mold line abought .375 to near .500 on the inside of the intake runers!!
I am Going to clean up intake and exaust per Scotty and Monsterbaby's advise.
My main problem is I keep trying to hold auto manufactures to the same tolerances that we use to bild aircraft.lol.
By the way did aneyone see the naming of my new project. The F35 LightningII. I am curentley working on the F22A Raptor but may get moved to the new program.
