well Ive been browsing the bargain finder classifieds locally here lookin for a ford with a 5speed my brother in law can stick in his truck to sell it. Well I see a 1990 Bronco 5L 5speed advertised for $200 so I called him and went and looked at it. Turns out the whole rotating assy is hooped (knocking) but it still fired right up and, other than the knocking, sounded healthy. So I offered the guy $150, he took $175.
In short, I got a bronco for $100 and my brother in law got a tranny for $75. The thing wasnt even very rusty and there were zero dents. The rust is on the wheel wells, the 'cab' corners infront of the rear wheels, and the tailgate. All the glass is good, bumpers are straight, mirrors are shiny like new.
The first vehicle I ever owned and got to drive (owned 2 trucks before that) was a 1980 Bronco w/windsor-auto on propane. I gotta find a 92-96 f series for parts & front clip to rebuild it now so my gf has something to drive when she gets her license.
well I just got it home, brother in law decided hes gonna sell me his truck for $300 instead of put the tranny in it. So I have a bronco, and in a couple days a 90 f150 ext cab s/b 4wd 5L 5speed....now I have to decide if I want to put the engine in the bronco or the tranny in the truck...lol. heres some pics. The bronco, this is the worst side, the other sides nowhere near as rusty.
the f150
well now i just have to decide if i put the tranny in the truck and sell it for bronco money...or put the engine in the bronco and sell the truck off to recoupe my investment...such a large chunk of money. lol
my DD is a 96 f350, truck solution fixed.
