I recently bought my first F-150 4.2 V6, and since day one every time I start the truck the air bag light flashes like 10 or 15 times then it stays on, my brother in law checked it with his diag computer but only a bad EGR valve flow came up, nothing about the air bag, any guess what it could be?
By the way the passenger air bag switch is on. Thanks in advanced to anyone with info.
That is typical behavior for a fault in the air bag system. For example, if I have the radio surround off (which requires disconnecting the passenger airbag switch), the light will do exactly that.
If possible, I would go back to the seller. Because of the high cost, it is not unusual for a deployed airbag to not be replaced. This could indicate an accident or just a mistake by someone. Hopefully, it is something less costly.
