i would get a small gas mower. smallest one they have, rear bag, walk behind. if you don't want to keep around a gas can, just stop for gas on your way home from the store, open the box, and pump some gas in that thing and you'll be good for the rest of the summer.

If you want to see the available electrics, Amazon.com has several B&D units with specs and reviews. I'm in my 9th year of using one, and it's still running great.

I hope you have good luck with the reel mower. I bought one at sears once and took it back the next day. My grass is much too tough for it. I would suggest even if you do get a reel mower at minimum get a gas powered weedeater too. The weedeater would bail you out after too much rain or an unexpected injury or illness.

Well, as it turns out, I got a free electric mower from my brother in law for helping them move last weekend.

I guess a good sharpening and a long extension cord is in order now.

Haven't really looked at it yet, but it's green, a newer looking "space age" type of bubble with a handle. Either a Craftsman or Black and Decker. It has a safety handle where you not only pull it to the handle, but you also have to try and make the safety and the handle "one".

Still haven't given up on the reel mower yet though.

Oh yeah. While going through Sears the other day, buying a new patio furniture set, I looked at some gas mowers. Briefly. As in so brief, all I saw was the prices. There's one for about $170, painted red, 4 horse B&S engine. Other than that, I can't say if it's a rear bagger or side bagger. I'll check it out again when I go to pick up our stuff next week.
