I will go home now, open a bottle of Scotch, and try to find some way to live with the shame.
Well i think i can beat this:

I got my 06 F250 cc/lb 4X4 6.0 turbo-psd / auto trans, just because it was my 11 year mark in the navy and i wanted to upgrade from my 96' f150 2wd 300 strait-6. When i drove my psd away from the dealership i new i would never drive anything but a Diesel again. (ok well at least own). As for use of "little boy blue" thats what i call my truck. its a daily driver to and fro, and on the lucky days..... it might get to haul a small horse trailer. mostly i got it because i didnt want to be the guy that was on the side of the road saying, "damn i need somthing with more power and more room". now i just laugh when i see "the other guys" strugeling up the "little hills" lol.. later days....

The point of the XL was to eliminate chrome as I work in an acidic environment with chemicals that pit and destroy chrome. The black bumpers and powder coated steel wheels is just what the doctor ordered. Plus there is less truck ($$$) to depreciate.

i just happened to get in here and read this post. For those of you who can afford a new truck: good for you, i'm happy for you,i wish i could. I just bought a 1988 F250 excab,4x4,7.3IDI turbo, with a 5 speed. That's what i can afford. I wanted a diesel so that's what i bought. This is america and people can spend there money however they want. How you use your truck is up to you. I haul and tow with mine it will be a farm truck, plow truck, woodtruck, but it's in good shape and i will try and keep it that way. Do i get a little jeulos of people who have new trucks, yes but it's there money so enjoy your new trucks guys and gals maybe some day i'll order me one, that is if were not flying around in hovercrafts or something.
