Idiot friend needs a refrence point

When going fishing yesterday with my friend of many years and his dad for Fathers Day, I rode in the back of his base-level, stock 2006 Chevy x-cab 2wd Silverado. The back seat was very hard and painful, and is positioned like a "L". The ride was very bad, cramped, and the bad body lean made me really, really carsick.

I told him how crappy the backseat is and he told me how the Silverado "is the best selling truck EVER, and has the most front and rear room in its class". I told him he was wrong and it was the F150 that has the tittle of most interior space and was the best selling for what, like 25 years? He kept saying he knew I was wrong, and it just must be me thats complaining. He is one of thoes people who thinks whatever he has is perfect, and unless he has it or likes it it isnt worth a crap.

He is always bragging about how great his stock, base level truck is that he leasing for $390 a month and what a great deal it is(HA!) Its 4.3L, V6, and has NO options except it is a automatic. Not even a CD player, just a AM/FM radio. He keeps bragging how much bigger and stronger it is then my Ranger. My Ranger is fully loaded, FX4, CD/Cass. combo, power everything, 4X4 with the 4.0L V6 and it is about the same highth as his, same bed size, and about the same engine except MY TRUCK IS A COMPACT AND HIS IS CONSIDERED A FULL SIZE! Im sure he gets worse gas millage too being his truck weighs more and having the same engine as mine.

Ive rode in the back of the F150, and a Dodge Ram Mega Cab and not felt as cramped and sick to my stomach during rides as I did with his Chevy.

So, please, post some facts about both the F150 and his Chevy to tell him what I allready know~the F150 is the better truck.

I will show him the link, Thanks!

A fact is you can't fairly compare a Ford Screw to and Xcab Chevy and then "prove" the Ford has more room. A better comaprison would be the Screw and a Crew Chevy, they're both 1/2 tons with similar option packages. I love my Ford, but trying to compare it to a vehicle not in it's class is unfair. I've ridden in the back seat of an old style Ram club cab, current Chevy Xcab and a Ford supercab, and they are all uncomfortable to adults for long distances.

Edit: I'll have to add this since the comparison between the Scew and Xcab chevy has been edited out of a previous post. same class comparisons are more fair and IMO show that they are fairly close in size.

Soundwave,

Don't let a Chevy guy get under your skin! If he doesn't no nothing about truck facts and options don't let his ignorance get the best of you. Next time you go fishing take your truck and stick him in the back and go to that fishing spot that is the furthest away, haha.

PS. GMC stands for "edit Mans Choice", lol!

Sounds like it's time to tie the trucks together and see who can drag who around the block, that'll solve this..just remember to put it in 4 wheel low, hehe!

To give the GM guys their due, if you add up the number or sierra's and silverados sold (to me they are the same truck) they out numbers the F150 sales.

I know people who think its better because they have it. I am about to hire a guy like that. I have enough faith in the guy just to ignore him.

We have a bunch of base model silverado's at work, 5.3 auto 4x4, no tint, no power locks, no power locks, no cd, no onstar manual 4x4. They are work trucks and do well for what we use them for. We typically get 100k on them before we trade them. Fuel pumps and front end pieces typically get the most work. Had one batch with bad A/C's.

I recall someone posting a link on one of these forum sites back in late 2004 or early 2005 to a breakdown of truck sales by manufacturer and the Ford F-150 sales were higher than the Chevy and GMC added together. Now that may have been for one quarter but I was able to use that article to quiet a couple of mouths here at work.
