I was at the shop with my uncle getting my new ram air hood put on. In walks a customer, somewhat friend of my uncle and he starts ragging on my Ford. He was like, "when are you going to learn that chevys are better". This guy, my uncle, and one of his workers are all chevy boys. He was like, I went through 4 exhaust manifolds on that thing blah blah (He said he went through a few Fords, suppositly). All i said to him was something like, "you know what, I'm not going to sit here and argue with you which is better. Ford and chevy make good vehicles. I like the styling of ford a lot better, everyone has there stories of 'i broke this this and that' on my chevy or same thing on Ford. Not everyone has a positive experience, it doesn't take much to break something if it's improperly maintained. Just a broken exhaust hanger will cause a manifold to crack. But let me ask you one question, how many F-series pickup trucks did Ford sell last year? Somewhere in the neighborhood of 900,000 units. How many did chevy sell? How many did Dodge sell? Lets just say Dodge and Chevy COMBINDED don't come close to 900,000. So I don't think ford is all that bad since the F-series is the highest selling VEHICLE (car or truck, anything) in the united states, and has been for 19-20 years! Ford's doing something right. Just for dissin' my Ford, I'll throw in that Ford has been the highest selling pickup truck for 25-26 years. Ouch that hurts doesn't it?" MAN I LOVE THAT BRAGGING RIGHT!!!
Then the guy goes, so is that hood "suppose to make it go faster". I said, yeah it adds about 45-50hp because it acts like a supercharger and "rams" air into the engine. And he said "oh really, thats cool". So I said, please, for real the manufacturer says 25hp at 40mph but I doubt that it's that high. And all he said was "oh". Goes to show his Ford wasn't very well taken care of if he talks about trucks like that ha. Sounds like a rice boy when he says "suppose to make it go faster" instead of something like "make more power". Keep in mind I'm 18 and he's about 30-40 haha.

I hate listening to the Ford-GM arguement. It's awfully redneck. I don't see the point in arguing, anyhow - if you don't like xyz vehicle, don't buy it. If you think everyone who buys xyz vehicle is making a huge mistake, let them make it - it will give you a chance to be part of something special, when you own abc vehicle and everyone's buying xyz.
I will, however, say this - GM can't design an interior to save their lives. That was the decisive factor when I bought my Expedition - the inside of the Tahoe is the same interior GM's been using for 30 years! blocky, squared off, jumbled-up dashboards are NOT COOL. Maroon velour all over the inside of a truck is NOT COOL.
So far, my Ford hasn't given me any trouble, despite what all the GM fanatics have been telling me.
I'm with you, BigMatt. I can't stand the GM interiors, I don't think they put much time or attention into it and it shows. They are blocky as you said, and I just don't think very visually appealing.
I think Ford pays a lot of attention to their interiors and it shows.
I agree too, I even hate the speedos they have in the older trucks. The one that is just a bar that rotates, hate that.

I'd rather have the maroon cloth GM uses than the gray cloth I got in the ford. It won't show the dirt and grime as quickly. Right now its still clean, but it is hard for me to keep it that way.
I, myself like both GM and Ford for different reasons. But I do not care for dodge at all. Nope I got to change my opinion on dodge. The 360 with the auto (VPSI van) we have. Is fun for doing burnouts. You just touch the gas a little bit and the tires will spin. (dry, wet, snow covered it don't matter)

I'm talking from a purely aesthetic view, here - maroon is not a color that was intended to ever be used, but we humans found ways to use it. Shame on us

all i have to say is LOOK AT CHEVY's POS PLASTIC TRUCKS AKA Avalanch
plastic over 50% of the truck
what a waste of $$$$$$$$$
and i have never seen a chevy i thought that looked good
there ugly as sin
anyways im 100% FORD man here no dought
grew up in a Ford family and a Ford Racing family at that
i will say one thing
none of the chevy';s can keep up with my small bock (351C) Mud thrucjk
i have seen these chevy guys build big monster strokers and my 351C blows them away
tand they break ALOT
i have raced for 5 years and never broke a thing ( knock on wood) well a u joint is the only thing i broke but hey when you bouncing iin a mud pit the u joint is going tyo blow no matter what
I very much like the interiors on the chevy's, I like the way the dash wraps around and how the console make u feel like ur in a cockpit so to speak, it also makes it so it's difficult for ur girfriend to change the radio station on you ahahahaha mine don't touch. sorry for the tangent. But tan, come on chevy, lighten it up, it looks like **** carpet orange or soemthing disgusting like that...... I personally dont care for either make's 1/4 ton offerings on the outside, but you can live with them. They are very "unoffensive" lol but throughout the years i've loved the way ford's look and still think they are the better of the two aesthetically. But both makes make very good trucks, as does dodge cept their tranny's break.......but not many peeps can say their motor sounds like new after 165 thousand like my strait six does in my ford, but other stuff breaks all the time, pitman arm seal, oil pan rusts through, hole worn in PS return line, clutch twice in a year and a half (not because of my driving so don't assume), 2 alternators in one year, both motor mounts. And this stuff is to be expected of a truck of this age and would also be on a chevy, but i would be happy to drive any american full size truck.....that's all i have to say
A guy at work just bought a new 2002 Z71. I have sat in it and drank beer. The beer didn't help. That seat is not right. Maybe I've sat in my Ford for too many miles. But when you buy a new vehicle, shouldn't it at least be comfortable to ride in? :-X23
The thing rode harsher than my F250 LD. Which could be because his is new and mine is older.
my older brother has always been a chevy guy all the way... he owns two chevy truck, one '99 one ton ext cab, and an older 85 or so.
ford this ford that hed say, chevy this chevy that.
one day while on a job he had to, answer the call of nature.
his truck was hooked to the boom so i told him to take mine.
i could hear he was having fun with the V-10 for a long time, since mine doesnt have a muffler. i could tell he was very impressed with it, by the weird smile on his face. i think i even could tell his next truck will be a FORD.
2002 FORD F250 ext cab short box V-10 auto 3.73s"BuiltTough" edition
One thing. Avalanche, that has to be the most ugly aborition of a truck I have ever seen in my whole life. They forgot to finish the wheelwells. When they ran out of design ideas for the body they just covered it in tacky plastic pieces. And what is up with the rear of the bed folding down to make it bigger. If you need a bigger bed by a real truck the first time around.

Don't Forget That Fords Have Roomier Cabs. My Mom Likes Chevy's, & I Confess, I Like Dodges, (1965 Dodge A100 Sportman Van) But, Ford Has A Roomier Cab. My Mom Even Says That. Lately Though, In ANY Mopar/Plymouth/Dodge/Chrysler Group,
I Have Noticed That People Are Edited OUT by Admin
Doesn't Matter If It's A Car/Truck/Van, They Are Edited OUT by Admin Attend A Car Show, And It's Worser. Anti Any Car Make Except <insert mopar product here> is rampant. Granted, I Have Run Into Pests With Fords & Chevy's, But Dodge People Are Tight? Anyone Else Noticed This?
