Maybe open up the idea in the regional chapter forum https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/f...play.php?f=138 that way the chapter leaders of each region could compile a list of participants.
I just went to the Iowa chapter, discovered they started a list some time ago. I sent them my info.

I am currently already on the lists for Iowa, Kansas, and the Northwest chapters as I am members of each of them, and think it's a great idea. I don't mind helping out any of the family on here so I think it's a good idea for having one nationwide, and actually wouldn't care if it was FTE wide instead of just diesel but having one specific for the diesel guys isn't a bad idea either then atleast your getting help from someone that understands diesels hopefully.

I know that this next winter we are going ot be traveling back out to Washington to visit my relatives, and even though I am not taking the PSD I am still on the road through several states and having a network like this just in case would sure make me feel better expecially traveling in Dec over the rockies.

.
I dont want to offend any one on the other FTE forums, but I think the guys on the 7.3 boards seem to take care of each other more so than the others. I spend most of my time on this forum, but I do browse the others occasionaly and I don't get the same sense of looking out for everyone like I do here. I appreciated the guys here willing to help the way they do, even by answering the same questions over and over with belittling any one. I would be willing to add my name to the list even though I am kind of out of the way of normal travelers, you never know when someone might show up in my neck of the woods. Thanks guys, Eric

When I log on I usually look at "new posts" first. I don't know if other do this or not but that is how I found this thread. I'm not a diesel owner, but I will say that you would miss out on a lot of resources if you excluded other from a help system.

But if each FTE member had numbers for a couple of others, they could contact them and have them post a HELP call on the forums with a location, perhaps including a GPS postion if available. Maybe there could be a HELP forum added on FTE for the purpose.

Another idea, if everyone listed their gps location with a phone number? This would give a stranded member a "nearest" help volunteer.

I've found that I very seldom stray outside of the 7.3 section. In fact never do unless I have done a search and it will take me elsewhere. But if it is 2:00 a.m. I'll be more than glad to take help from anyone. Likewise, maybe not so glad, but willing to help another FTE member too.

Right. Especially if you are sitting on a narrow shoulder of a mountain road in the middle of the night.

I would be willing to bring fuel or my winch or needed tools within a fifty mile radius, using gasoline to get me there.
