I've had most of them. A 22' Carlson hydro with 2800 hp blown 385 block, a 35' Viking convertible, a 16' Larson with a modded Evinrude V4 that would chinewalk, 18' Ranger bass boat with a 175 Evinrude, a Chris Craft 15' "B" model racer with an OMC modded 22 hp (don't laugh- it'd run over 50 mph), a Chris Craft Commander, and a mahogany hand built racer with a modded 35 Evinrude. My wants are now down to a deck boat. At 59 years old, it's time to slow down some. Over all of these years owning boats and the old adage is still true more than ever- a boat is a hole in the water that you pour money into. The fuel and bait bill during the summer for the Viking was around $5,000 a month plus any maintenance items which seemed to be endless. The Larson was the most fun. It rarely needed any work and most folks didn't pay it any attention until I blew past them. Most of the larger bass boats would try to keep up but the old girl had a slight hook in the bottom and she would fly. This was an older 1964 that I did a restoration on. I had her for about 15 years and finally let somebody talk me out of her. I have been looking at another one lately- same model, same year, same color, and needs restoration. I can hear it calling now........
I have an old 1960 Glasspar boat with a 75 HP Evinrude engine. Got her pretty cheap. Actually I think I'm ready to sell her the same way. I don't feel that way when I'm scootin across the water though. Kind of a love hate thing.
I think what sums up what I think about boats is stated in an old saying, "the two happiest days of a boat owners life is the day they bought it and the day they sell it".
Although, if I do sell her, I'll probably go through withdrawls and buy another one.
I voted other because u didnt have fishing boat on there. i would love to have a 21' Lund pro v that i could fish out of. but a jetski would b fun too. tuff decision.
we've had 4 jetskis, 2 pontoon boats (currently a 24footer with a merc 125) a 1984 mastercraft (forsale) a 2005 nautique, a 1994 celebrity bowrider, a fishing boat, a peddle boat, an old tri hull...
I'm the only guy that would rather not have a boat..?
Nope, I don't want one either. I'm a USCG licensed captain and have been operating a ParaSail boat on the Lake of the Ozarks for the past 11 years. I'm freakin' sick of boats and tourists on boats! Whew, got that out. Well, gotta hit the hay so I can go out boating tommorrow. Hahahaha CRAP!
Other- B/c you don't have rowboat on there, either. At this stage of my life, I'd rather go rowing on a quiet stretch of water than anything else. I've had almost all the others.
Voted other for fishing boat. Right now I've got a 25' Parker with a Yamaha 250 Outboard. If I could have any fishing boat in that size range, I'd either get a Carolina Classic or Albemarle.
