Need Help

Guys,

I went out yesterday and bought a MC Fuel Filter and the "X" style disconnect tool from Napa. I have the right size disconnect tool.

My question is:

Where exactly do you put the tool on at? Do you put it on the metal ends of the filter and push the lines off or do you put the tool around the connector tubes that go on top of the metal ends of the fuel filter and squeeze the tube and pull them off that way?

I have read a ton of fuel filter removal posts yesterday and just want to be sure before I tackle it today..

I have an 02 Ex..

Thanks..

Hmmm... let's see if I can explain this.

Push the fuel line towards the fuel filter.
Place the tool around the end of the fuel filter (pipe sticking out of fuel filter)
Push tool into end of the fuel line while pushing fuel line towards fuel filter.
With tool and fuel line pushed together as far as they can go, pull BOTH tool and fuel line away from fuel filter. Should pop right off.

I just changed the fuel filter on a 98 Club Wagon.
1. put the X tool on the front tube of the fuel filter & slide the nipple of the tool under the fuel line connector.
2. pull on the fuel filter with one hand & on the fuel line (including the tool) with the other hand. Mine did not slide off real easy but you learn how hard to pull quickly & the rear connection popped of fast.
3. repeat for the rear (gas line from the tank) connector.
4. I would also fill the new fuel filter before installing (I didn't & it took a long time to fill it & the front gas line as most of it drained out.)

I tried this under my van unsuccessfully but it worked great once I had it on a lift.

Wish I had a picture.

Art is very fast . I would go with his advice 1st.

Thanks Guys..

Gotter Done..She runs like a champ!!

Took me about 30 minutes to do..The rear hose was easy to do, but the front hose to the engine was a bear to get off!!

Thanks Again..

I saved myself 60.00 at the Dealership. They said it would be 75.95 plus tax. I paid 15.97 for the MC Fuel Filter..
