Throughout these forums I've read postings about the Predator "plug and play" programmer product(s) and - the general trend seems to be less that positive.
However, I have found nothing on the Stage II item that plugs between the ICP sensor and then links into the MAP sensor wire.
I have part #3013 installed on my 04 6.0 PSD as well as an Edge Platinum programmer - I DO NOT RUN BOTH AT SAME TIME - and the Predator seems to have a bit more low RPM power and I know I get better milage with the Predator than I do with the Edge set to "Driving"
Having said all that, if I am running the risk of problems running the Predator I will switch back to the Edge.
I Ran It Wi My Edge Up To Setting 3 But Didnt Like Edge's Trany Programinstalled Sct W/ Custom Tunes Does Anyone Know If I Can Run It With My Tow Tunes ?
All I know is I run a predator in my F350 on the highest setting and have not had a problem.
do u run larger exhaust on you truck, what kind of mileage do u get? i have ran the 100 hp tune 1 time and it gave this 2006 ps some unbelivable power, but i was told i better run larger exhaust to keep the egt's down, and a egt gauge to watch the temps, but i have been running a 65 custom tune from diablo for 1 year have had no problems and it gives alot of power
I don't think he is refering to the Diablo Predator. Isn't this the module that plugs in under the hood?
I have heard good things about fuel mileage with these. What kind of mileage gains are you talking about? What kind of performance gains are you seeing? Does it smoke heavy under load? How are the EGT's? The 6.0 needs a little help with the bottom end torque. You say it helps and that has my interest. Just keep an eye on things. The 6.0 doesn't like excessive cylinder pressures. I would call the manufacture of the programmer or box. Ask them about towing and what to watch for on cylinder pressures (driving conditions to watch for). Cylinder pressures are a much bigger concern with the 6.0 than egt's. Your factory water temp is a pretty good indicator of cylinder pressure. If you see the temp gauge climbing use caution. The turbo on the 6.0 will open up and do a good job of dumping egt heat. Please give me a little feedback on the performance and egt's on this box. I know someone that is interested in something like this. I believe this is the product he has been looking at.
Just my .02 Someone with more knowledge should be able to expand on this
