predator DX2

Anyone run a predator DX2 brake controller?? It was the truck when I bought it. If you have it, how do you like it? I read some info online about it, and I have to say, Im aa little sceptical about how it energizes the trailer brakes only when it senses forward motion....( applying the brakes on thetruck) any input??

Many use that type of technology. The technology is pretty proven, I just haven't dealt with that paticular unit before.

I have a Primus controller made by Tekonsha with the same type of braking system.

All I can say about it is WOW.

This is the smoothest braking system I have ever used. It only applies the amount of braking needed. It is as if the system can tell how much I am pushing the brake pedal, and add or release the brakes accordingly.

When stopped on level ground and holding the brake the system will not power the trailer brakes. If you are stopped on a hill facing either up or down, the system will apply brakes according to the amount of incline.

All of this depends upon having the system setup properly.

I pull a car trailer with my Expy, and when empty I back off the thumb wheel about 1/3 round and fine tune from there. When loaded I turn it back up and fine tune the first stop or two. This is easy with the digital readout showing voltage applied to the trailer brakes when stopping.

I have driven tractor trailers off and on for over 30 years, and this system is as close to an integrated system like on big trucks as anything I have ever driven.

So, yes the system you have is a very good system.
