Hood Hinge assembly

Hello,
It seems as though I have a bent passenger side hood hinge. For whatever reason it decided to start bending with a weird curve. I guess after 31 years its starting to get a little weakened. I wish to replace it with a new hood hinge. I tried looking in LMC Truck and they didn't have anything available for it. Does anyone have any idea where I can get a new hinge? For the mean time I have to push the hood towarde the passenger side as I close the lid. Thanks!

I had the same problem with my '79. It's embarassing to walk back and fourth to either side of the hood to push the sucker down and hopefully when you get it closed down far enough it'll lock and close with one swift slam to the front center. I ended up buying some off of Ebay. I've never seen any aftermarket ones new - you may be stuck to junk yard searching. I'd give you my old ones the driver's side is fine but it's the passenger side that's tweaked.

Maybe check with Dennis Carpenter Ford truck parts.
He has 73-79 so he might have some thing for a 70.

Yeah, my passenger side is tweaked also... what really sucks is that I have something that draws current with the key shut off, so I gotta open and close the thing every time I park it or want to drive it (To pull the battery cable off! One of these days I'll get out there with a meter and attempt to find it!). I wasn't sure if there was a catalog that had them available. I guess I'll try a few of the online junkyards. If anyone does know of catalogs that have em' I'd sure appreciate it if you'd share the info. Thanks!

Dennis Carpenter and LMC truck both have them. They run about $125 each w/o the spring. The springs are $15 each.

How or where do I find Dennis Carpenter? LMC had hood hinge assemblies, but I didn't see any for my truck (67-72). Thanks!

Dave,
I think I may be interested in those hinges. Mine are pretty much shot. Please email me at james1787(No Email Addresses In Posts!) so that we can arrange payment / shipping. Thanks again for making the offer!
