which fe have marine application
I just got a 25' metal boat hull- ready to build- and it comes with an FE but not sure which one- has an awesome looking alloy intake... hoping for a 427 of course.
I also have a buildable 390 4v. dreaming that the boat motor is a 427 drilled as side oiler - in good condition so i can sell it and use the $ for the 390 build.
thanks...and i did search 'marine' but only anxillary info available it seems.

Congrats on the boat Rodger! JMO... If that 25' is indeed a steel hull, and has a 427 in it..you would be better off keeping the 427 in it for the extra TQ... to get that big tug moving!! LOL..

don't be afraid to ask as there are alot of boaters, ex navy and coast guard in here .
care for a 36 foot ex navy boat with a 435 hp twin turbo dd powered boat, darn thing runs all day at 20 knots rideing is fun, plus when we go out for inshore tuna with it . it's fun as it's a full walk around cuddie cabin hull.
try and find the guys the serial and casting numbers off your motor as said it just might be a 427. from there help can be gotten.

There were also some 406's used in marine applications.As suggested see what casting numbers and look for the crossbolts for the 427. Lots of the marine engines were solid lifter cammed. Good luck,

So what's wrong with a counter rotating 427? I installed one in a friends PU years ago, 1 speed forward with 4 speeds reverse. After fighting to get it started I bump started in 3rd pushing backwards, motor ran great.
The crank will screw oil out the rear main if you changed crank rotation.

oman don't remind me of those motors of olden days . now it's all done in the gear boxes and out drives to help cut costs of production.
care to play with a reverse rotating v8 903 cumapart like i had in a old wood hull sport fisher i had?
it's alot easier in the gear box.
