I had my CPS go out at 57k. Truck just died, then restarted fine, drove 1/2 mile died again for good. Dealer replaced it. But how about this problem, do you guys think it might be the CPS again, since the truck now has 164K on it?
A couple of weeks ago driving at 65mph I periodically got a hick up, that only lasted for a fraction of a second. I thought it might be something with the torque converter lock up so I took it out of overdrive and it repeated two more times at 8-10 mile intervals. I drained some of the fuel from the seperator and didn't have the problem for a few days (200 or so miles). Then I changed the fuel filter and I still get the hick up once in a while. If it happends when I'm sitting at a light the truck will stall. Truck restarts fine.
So this may ba a dumb question, but it once again sounds like it could be your CPS, the first one lasted 57K and you have 107K on the second one? Why not change it for about $60 and see if it is the problem?
I agree with Lushman. Your second CPS has been installed in the truck for longer than the original and they don't have a very good track record.
Everyone here on FTE who has been around long enough to learn about it carries a spare CPS and the tools to change it in case it gives out.
