Looking for some suggestions from you guys. I recently purchased the 9415SF for my 06 F350 PSD and it will not work. All settings are same or maybe worse than stock. It pukes black smoke, but has not performance gain. SCT site says I should have a 9415B. I received a 9415A although it did have my truck listed within the device for programming. I downloaded the latest updates over the weekend and now my device says it is a 9415B and my truck is still listed, but it does not perform any better than stock. I emailed SCT support today and did not get a reply yet so was looking for any suggestions from you guys so maybe I could get it working anyway.
You can convert an A unit to a B, so many dealers (like us) only stock an A unit. The A to B can be done, but a B to A conversion is not allowed by the software for what ever reason. If you did the download and converted to a B unit like you indicated, it "Should" work. If not, you can call SCT (I know you emailed them, but I hate email!) and talk to any of the tech guys there and they will bend over backwards to get you up and running as quick as they can. SCT has great support for the customers and the dealers! Your truck should run VERY much better with the SCT Xcal2 SF device. It will smoke a bit, but not much and only when the turbo is not caught up with the engine. Once the RPMs come up and the boost starts going your smoke should be cleared to a light grey haze if you hold her on the rug. Try giving the boys at SCT a call if you dont get an email reply soon and they can help you out.

Hey thanks fordtrkpuller. Appreciate the info. Yes, Mike at SCT has been very helpful. I am still using email with him. We have made some improvements. He sent me another file, but not sure it is all working correctly yet. Anyone have any runs using the SF with a G-tech? My best on the G-tech is 15.097 1/4mile at 88mph and 309HP. I am running 35" tires but it still seems a bit slow compared to some other numbers I have seen people post on hear with the same mods from a dragstrip. Maybe it is just the G-tech. Low end spooled up to around 2300 launching in 4WD is a rocket, but my buddies duramax pulled me from a 30mph rolling start. Oh yea, and it plums black smoke for a ways. I also went from an A to B and back to an A. Maybe there is something wrong?
Anyone have any info that can help me determine if this is normal? TIA
Dustin

The way it was explained to me was that I can stock A units and convert to a B anytime, but that if I have a coverted-to-B unit I could not get it back to an A. Maybe the tech I talked to was wrong.....wouldn't be the first time a manufacturers tech made a small error...lol. Anyways, we ran our 05 with a G-tech, but not with a SF but with one of the Innovative custome street tunes we carry....it did an average of 14.2 with an average of 421hp with the weight at 7740 (We hit scales and got the actual weight). This was on level and straight road that we did 4 passes (2 each way) on. 309 sounds lower than I would have expected......I thought they were similar to that stock. Did you level the G-tech and do this on a straight and level road? It really messes up an accelerometer if you turn or go up/down during a run. Also, if the entered weight is wrong, its all wrong. Our truck is a extra-cab short box at 7740 lbs, my 2000 Excursion 7.3 goes over the scales at 8330 lbs...these things are heavier than you think!
Thanks a lot. Yes I was on level ground. Actually did the tests in three different locations all with the same results. The sad thing is I estimated everything really high on my weight. I entered it as 8100 pounds so that means my numbers are worse than I thought. What size tires were you running on that truck?
Things that make you go hmmm.

That was with the stock 18" rims and stock Continental tires. Today the tires are 35x13.5x18 Xtreme All-Terrains, so I am sure that slows it down a tad-bit.
Hey if your bored and want something to do. I would love to hear what your numbers on the G-tech are now with the larger tires. Just wanna compare apples to apples and make sure mine is working correctly. Thanks for the replies.
