My work truck is a 1995 F250. I found this thread while trying to figure out how to remove my headrests. There is a small metal clip, (similar to a window handle clip), underneath the plastic piece at the base of the headrest. If you work back the material of the seat you will see the clip. Just use needle nose pliers and pull the clip out. If nobody has messed with it, there will be one clip on each post.
