headrest removal

Okay, I know it's there for safety reasons, but I want to remove my head rest. I can't wear my hat when I'm driving because it flips it all over the place. Is there a trick to it, or do I have to disassemble the seat and remove it completely?

Well, let me say this... I have a vinyl bench seat and it USED to have stuck headrests. They wouldn't pull up at all. If you put enough @$$ behind it, they will move up, and will definately pull completely out, breaking the internal clips that keep it from pulling all the way out. Trust me, I know!

so if I break those clips that keep it from going all the way out, with the other clips still work that adjust it? Best guess is okay too.

You must be short Ryan. To wear my stetson I simply push the headrest down all the way and I have no problem with "clearance".

ooo we have a funny man...

Actually, I'm 6 feet tall, maybe a hair more. Maybe I just need to pull harder. That's usually how we do it at work if something isn't doing what we want it to do.

Headrest removal

I have a 2006 F-150 Super Cab. To remove the headrest's their are two clips. One on each shaft. The one for lowering the headrest has a noticeable clip that you push in to lower. The other headrest shaft has a not so noticeable clip that you can also push in and the headrest will then release and pull up to remove.

Nope quicklook, they are the exact same. My dad just bought a 2006 F-150 with the 460. She's a beast. Also has the same headrest's my 95 has.

Ok sorry for the sarcasm. He's just a newby who tried to help but unfortuanately he was in the wrong forum!
