Can someone tell me which wires on the hazzard switch is susposed to have power and also tell me where they run. One more thing can someone tell me where the sensor for the e-brake is. My truck is a 1972 f-250 camper special.
The hazard flasher gets its power from red/white wire attached to a red wire which goes to the stoplight switch.
Red ---------\___________
Red/White----/
From the hazard light flasher it goes to Hazard light switch via a W/R wire > from there to the turn signal switch.

Yes I was thinking of the switch for the idiot light. Do you know where it is? I also need to know where my horn relay is. I think it is shot because my horns don't get power when the button is pushed.
72,
You may have a bad blinker switch assembly. It seems you've got mutiple issue in that location. Do your blinkers work? Have you had this truck long? Steering column problems are one of the most common problems on these vintage trucks. The shifter collar breaks and ends up grinding the blinker assembly up. Then, when it's repaired someone disassembles the blinker gang plug and all hell breaks lose. Consider the source and check it out. I made a $100 bucks last weekend fixing the very thing I speak of.
Good luck, Have Fun,

[updated:LAST EDITED ON 06-Dec-01 AT 05:39 PM (EST)]dfisher1 I figured out what was wrong with my hazzards I was an idiot and forgot to check the fuses. As it turned out the fuse for it was blown so I replaced that.
mk it's not there there is no relays near my solenoid. Actualy it might be. Is the wire for the horn from the battery yellow with a black line and also about how big is the relay?
Also can anyone tell me where the switch for the idiot light is for the parking brake. I know it's not on the the parking brake lever assembly.
The "brake" light on these old trucks is an indicator that doesn't light up when the parking brake is set; it lights up when the proportioning valve senses an inbalance in hyrdaulic pressure of the braking system between the front and rear.
Ok, I am either a complete idiot or completely blind (btw i am blind in one eye) there is a relay on the fender by the solonoid. Anyone have a way of testing the relay to make sure that it is working?

Maybe this past post will help shed some light on your horn problem
