Recently i've been hearing like a shuffle of coins or pinging coming from the engine. This usually happens when i'm trying to go up a hill and its in a different gear than it should be in so i give it gas and this is all i hear until the rpms skyrocket. Its almost like a delay in the throttle response. Any thoughts??
May just be some "bad" gas. Was your last fill-up at a new/different station?
If there is no reason to suspect the fuel, then check the ignition system. Also be sure to check the various heat shields as they tend to loosen over time and rattle.

Do you mean like it is in too high a gear and hasn't downshifted yet?
What RPMs do you most commonly hear the noise?
What is the throttle position when you hear it? (eg. mid throttle, cruising, floored etc.)
At what RPM does it go away?
Does it only make the noise when the engine is under load or can you replicate it in PARK in your driveway?
I just recently completed a complete "tune up" of my V10 because of this condition. The truck runs infinately better at start up, but when it warmed up the pinging was still there. After doing some research on this site, I have been running fuel system cleaner in this tank of gas. The problem is getting better as the tank is used, so my suggestion to you is that you may have some cleaning needed. I suspect my trucks previous owner may have been a little too gentle with it !!
Having said that, if your plugs need changing that could also be the problem.
Mine at 78k were well and truly shot.
Thanks for the replys i'm going to try adding cleaner to my fuel and see if that helps. Where is the inspection plate located and how do i fix this problem if thats it?
