I was talking with my friend today about some of the things I'd like to do with my truck (such as a supercharger, lift kit, etc. etc) and he mentioned to me that instead of doing a supercharger, they make a rear mounted twin-turbo. He said that it adds something like 250-300 horses. Anyone know anything about this? If so where can I find more information about it?
I don't know about 250-300 horses, but it can be done. Adding 300 horses to a stock motor is a bad idea, but rear mounted turbo's save room under the hood, and turbo lag isn't much more significant than under-hood turbo's, considering the amount of piping you need would be much the same as an intercooled under-hood.
Yeah I was kind of iffy on the horse power increase, thus why I decided to ask about the whole thing. Sucks they don't have one listed for my truck on that site. If anyone knows where I can get one for a 2000 F-150 4.6L, it'd be much appreciated!
You can fab one up for your F150. It's been done, the mounting kits for those turbos aren't that complicated. They offer a "general" kit that will allow you to do this.
Or you can just geta supercharger kit that is made specifically for your truck. I got 133 hp, measured at the wheels, out of my Procharger, running 10.5psi of boost.
I've seen it done on a Camaro before. Not quite sure how it would add up 300 horses. I think the one done on the Camaro was a single turbo and it added less than a 100 horses. Fbody brings up a good point with the turbo lag, they would have to be pretty small turbos so they spool quickly, unless they were meant for better top end power.

It would probably be better (and cheaper) to fabricate the piping. I've seen a LT1 camaro with one mounted between the rear axle and the bumper, but there's no point in going that far back with an f-150. I wouldn't go much past the doors, and definitely not past the cab itself, otherwise you're just asking for ridiculous lag.
The site says the general turbo system is coming...as well as the F150 system. But a member on another forum put one on his F150 a few years ago, I saw pics of it. I'd give them a call and tell them what you want to do. I'm certain they'll be able to help you out.
