"Squeek" from drive shaft?

ive been trying to find out what this squeek is coming from on my `03 F150, i thought it may be my rear brake pads squeeking but with me kneeling near the truck and having someone pull forward slightly then press the brake it seems to be coming from the drive shaft area

anyone ever have this problem? im lost

if it has drum brakes it could be brake dust built up but it sounds like you have got a ujoint dry and needs replaced,

I have a squeak in my f250 but it is coming from the front axle seals.Ford has replaced them but after 400 miles the squeak is back. The squeak is not steady but only occasionally.Ford knows about this but doesn't have an answer. They said if they come up with a fix they will let me know.

I have an 01 SCrew that had the same "squeak" you describe. Does the frequency of the squeak change with vehicle speed? I pulled my driveshaft and found the ujoints all dried up and so replaced them. Squeak is gone.

I had the same problem on my 1992 F-150. I replaced the u-joints and problem solved.
