Taillight troubles
I had similar troubles with my 1968 F-250. Yesterday I had the turn signal switch replaced and found my problem. Someone before me had removed the grommet in the firewall where the harness goes through so that he could run a hydraulic line for a trailer brake. Well 30+ years of vibration and rubbing on the metal hole finally wore through the insulation and shorted to ground. Quick fix was to line the hole. Premanent fix is to fix wire and replace grommet.
