2.8 Rebuild Question

I have a 84 Bronco 2 that has a recently rebuilt c5 with new torque converter, flywheel, and starter now its time to rebuild the motor. I am wondering what I should have done to the 2.8 as far as rebuilding goes? Also what should it cost me if I have the labor of rebuidling done by someone else by this I mean once the motor is out of the B2. I am just going for a daily driver and love this style of SUV.

if you are going to do it right,i would do a complete overhaul, have to engine block, crankshaft, and both heads machined by a professional. around here that goes for about $200-300. then replace all the internal engine parts..clean all the external parts and replace if neccesary.repaint once engine is built up..i did this to my 1972 ford f100 w a 302 3 years ago..have not had 1 minutes trouble with it

the heads they reface the valve seats, inst new valve stem seals, new freeze plugs, and reface the the head itself..as faor the block, they bore the cylinders, replace camshaft bearings, freeze plugs..as for the porting and polishing i have done it before but just for daily driving,to me it's not worth the extra expense

I would go with a duraspark conversion, ditch that vacuum line nightmare, with a 2BBL holley carb.

I had thought about the duraspark conversion. The previous owner had a new holley reman from summit put on with all new vacum lines and such a few months before I bought it which was in sept of 05 the truck runs very good getting about 17mpg with it. My question is if I were to switch is there any kind of a market on ebay for the feedback carbs like mine?
