Only problem is, some of these guys (not all) tend to cause more problems than they solve. A civilian, getting paid to go to a war zone, armed, no real rules.....what did we used to call those guys? Now they are "contractors".....

FYI: Many of these guys have been recruited from the free world's Elite and Specials Forces groups. They have special skills....if you know what I mean... These "security teams" will more than likely be escorting high government politicos instead of convoys though.
This is one of the reasons our S.O.F. are getting a little thin. $ 30,000+ / month, when in theater, is hard to turn down.
But, back on topic. There are some areas in Dallas that I would want one of those modified F-350s to ride around in....

Yeah, I know, I dealt with it for a year. Take a guess who my biggest problem children were? It's getting to be a contractor's heaven over there. It's one thing to be doing a duty; it's a whole different one when you are chasing a fat pay check.
250K a year is nice, but try being one of the guys that have to keep the soldiers in the REAL Army when they see the cowboys running around with little to no rules. You're driving a ragged out HMMWV and these guys are on a government contract that gives them all the good toys. Run over a kid........no big deal, get on a plane, we'll send you to the next theater in 3 - 6 months. Soldier does that, he gets a court martial and a discharge.
Perception is big issue over there.

BFR, I just feel like I should say: I posted because I like the trucks, they're definitely creative and original. I like seein our trucks worked hard. However, I agree with you completely when it comes to "Contractors". I can't tell you military guys enough how much I appreciate what you've been doing. You guys seem to have to put up with a lot of BS at times, but you all wade through it and always get the job done regardless. So, Thank you.

They earn the money. Its a huge risk.
A family member ex Special Forces did contract and was running to Baghdad airport copped an RPG into their vehicle. Thing hit the ground just in front of them and bounced up banged into the corner of the vehicle and spat off into the dirt. A dud. Said he **** himself. Earnt his money that day.
