Anyone -
Just recently I have noticed a noise in the drivetrain. This noise occurs when I am downshifting or on the 'ride' side of the transmission. By that, I mean that I am not accelerating - the trans is in gear and coasting. The noide is a rubbing, tick, tick noise. It's hard to explain. The clutch has 40K on it. The clutch also seems to be in fine working condition, I haul a travel trailer with it - no slipping.
Before I drop the trans, does anyone have any past experience with this. Also, could it be a universal (only when coasting and downshifting?)?
I notice most when I downshift from 4 to 3, 3 to 2 and 2 to 1. It is slight when I coast in gear. It also does it in reverse. I'm thinkin it might be in the tranny.
