Camper Shell, What Size?

I have a 2004 F250 Super Duty short bed. I am looking for a used camper shell (preferably aluminum) just to install for long weekend family trips. Are there any F150 shells that will fit my truck, and if so, what years? How far back can I go in F250/F350 years to find a shell that will fit? Is this bed what is called a short wide? I am new to this shell game, so any input is helpful. Thank you. Philip.

The thing about super duty beds is that they are larger than the average truck bed. So much so that we have to have a seperate category for them in the tops section at work. We have Compact, Fullsize, and Super Duty. You'll probably end up having one ordered for it. But since its aluminum you want it will still be cheap, well not cheap, but cheap when compared to fiberglass tops.

Lethal, when you say larger, do you mean in length, width, or both? Thank you, Philip.

Super duty beds are 6.75 ft long, whereas the 150 beds are I believe only 6.5 ft. So you'd be coming up a little short.

I just purchased a used White fiberglass cab high shell for a older pick up truck I fits ok but for $100.00 bucks you can not go wrong I have a 2002 F250 L/B. I just use it once it while on trips other wise I take it off.

It keeps things dry and clean and my kids like to play in it.

I have been looking for a carpet kit also I seen on of those on e-bay for $50.00 local pick up.

So if you just want a shell for once in while trips and if you dont care if it fits prefect you know like when you put a camper shell on a step side trucks it looks ok but something just not right about it.

A old use shell will work look I the local paper you can find old shells for cheep sometimes pepole will give them a way if you willing to pick them up remember bring some good size C clamps with you 4 to 6 clamps will do fine this way you dont have to drill holes in you'r truck, If it needs new gasket stuff for the bottom of the shell Lowes has the stuff in rolls about $10.00.

And if you'r neighbors or fellow worker give lip about you old shell becasue it's not Blemm Blemm High Tech New, do what I do Put You'r Hand out In front of you and tell them give me $2000.00 for a nice shell then you get one untill then leave me alone.

Then once again see what they are driving, I most cases It's a POS.

Ill measure a few of them tomorrow and compare them, but they are longer, wider, and taller. Being that, the top companies usually tack on another $100 bucks for the extra materials.
