camper shell interchange

I have a '99 F250 superduty, 8' bed, regular cab 4x4. Currently looking to upgrade to something with less miles, probably in the 2005-2008 range. What years will my camper shell transfer too? Any bed changes from '99 to 2008 or so that wouldn't let me swap the cap?

I hate to spend the bucks on a new shell if I don't need to.

Thanks

Just to piggyback off this posting and thinking about a cap, any changes from '08 - current?

None. I believe they all interchange from 1999 to current year.

The only difference you may see is that there is a distinction on the '08+ models with regard to whether or not the trucks have the tailgate step. All of the shell manufacturers I've seen ask whether or not you have the tailgate step when you order / build a shell.
